to a national contest on the theme, “Reflections While Standing Before the
Lincoln Memorial” sponsored by the American Association for State and Local
History, in conjunction with Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), as part of a
celebration of Abraham Lincoln’s 150th birthday. The grand prize was $500 and publication in This
Week magazine. Catherine LeDuke’s essay
